Seva Project @XB

All the groups of XB had  already chosen their respective sub themes for Seva in the class itself .
The various ways to present it can vary as per creativity and thought process of students and their team ,but the format should more or less include following points

Medical care is vital for our life and health, but the waste generated from medical activities represents a real problem of living nature and human world. Improper management of waste generated in health care facilities causes a direct health impact on the community, the health care workers and on the environment Every day, relatively large amount of potentially infectious and hazardous waste are generated in the health care hospitals and facilities around the world. Indiscriminate disposal of BMW or hospital waste and exposure to such waste possess serious threat to environment and to human health that requires specific treatment and management prior to its final disposal. The problems relating to biomedical waste and procedure of handling and disposal method of Biomedical Waste Management is of serious concern for all.

In context to the above scenario, students can be the best change makers to find best solution.

Ø These vacations pay visit to any Clinic, Hospital or Nursing home near your residence to find various type of BMW generated by them

Ø You investigate the  measures used by them for disposing of the biomedical waste.

Ø You may visit the website https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biomedical_waste for getting more information.

Ø You should list few health hazards which can be caused due to improper handling of such wastes.

Ø You are asked to give your views about the efficacy of those measures and mention what more should be done in this direction to address this issue.

 We intend to create awareness amongst every citizen and the personnel involved in health care unit about the importance of judicious management of biomedical waste.
