Each year around the world, International Women’s Day celebrated on March 8. Hundreds of events occur not just on this day but throughout March to mark the economic, political and social achievements of women.
Organisations, governments and women's groups around the world choose different themes each year that reflect global and local gender issues.
The UN theme for International Women’s Day 2012 is Empower Women – End Hunger and Poverty. In many countries, International Women's Day is an occasion to honor and praise women for their accomplishments. Best way is to invite people to celebrate inspiring women by sending a free International Women’s Day e-Card or honoring a woman whose efforts make a difference in the fight against hunger and poverty with Woman's Day award .

Why are women always considered delicate?
Even I'm not able to understand why women are seem to be so delicate to people. Women can also be stronger than men and we have loads of examples but still the opinion of our society never changes. It doesn't regards women equal to men. And I'm not able to find even a single reason for this.

I think it's really not fair to always associate women with flowers etc but at times when we are in a very soft mood and are talking of goodness we might use such symbols otherwise who can forget sarojini naidu ,Mother Taresa ,Laxmi Bai etc.......Thanks for your comment
