A Nephon is the functional unit of excretion .There are one million nephrons present in each kidney .
Steps of excretion in nephron
(a)ultrafiltration of blood or dialysis  ----the branch of renal artery (called glomerulus inside the Bowmans'scapsule)brings blood with metabolic waste in the Bowmens capsule which filters all the small molecules leaving large molecules in the blood.
(b)selective reabsorption of useful substances ---Some useful substances like glucose, amino acids , salts or water which body requires are are taken back by blood capillaries in tubular part of nephron .
(c)Collection of waste---the metabolic waste is collected in the collecting duct to be taken to urinary bladder through ureter.
the branch of renal vein takes blood free of metabolic waste back to heart.
