Students' views on the topics of declamation (segment2)

ROME WAS NOT BUILT IN A DAY

There are great things in the world that take considerably a long time to mature. It is the nature of a task that determines the length of time it would take to be accomplished.
Some people are in a habit of getting impatient when a task takes a long time to complete. This idiom is used to tell the people that great things are not accomplished overnight. Such things require long time , patience and continuous effort. A close look at it will make it evident that the word 'ROME' represents a great or noble or monumental task and 'IN A DAY' indicates span of time. It is an advice to those who after having put in a little effort want excellent result immediately . It is again a lesson for those who want to do big things in life that they should be prepared to work hard continuously for a long time without losing patience . Patience is crucial in this process . Impatience will lead you nowhere. It will waste the labour you have already put in. One should have firm determination and should sincerely work hard. The key to accomplishment of any big task is labour , patience and perseverence.
I am often reminded of this phrase often when i see Anna Hazare on television these days. He has been seen as the NEW AGE BAPU. He is respected and loved by everyone for this cause. But even this respect and success did not come overnight. His love for his country made him join the army , he did not even marry as e saw it as a hurdle to his aim. He worked unselfishly towards the development of his native home town 'Raleghar sidhi' . He changed the image of the village by providing occupation for all and banning scale of tobacco  etc in his village. He was not even known to us but his motive was not to be famous but to sreve the people and unselfish attitude that earned him the title ' Bapu - Our New Gandhi' .
